FL City Council approves agreement for Castlewood G.C.

Management changes in the works Jennifer Mevissen Staff Writer As much as the management has tried to make Castlewood Golf Course profitable it just hasn’t happened. The shape of the public golf course has dramatically improved since TruRing LLC, owned and operated by Jim Trudeau, took over the public facility in 2007. A management agreement is set to expire the end of this year, so the Forest Lake City Council took steps to keep their working relationship with TruRing intact and unanimously approved a contract with its new terms. The primary change from the previous 5-year agreement is the basis for the city’s compensation.

Sarah Chatwin lands LATV job

Forest Lake resident Sarah Chatwin has been hired to fill a part-time position as access coordinator for the Lakes Area TV, the Forest Lake Cable Commission has announced. Chatwin’s part-time slot pays $18 an hour and was set to begin Tuesday, Jan. 3. AutoZone to build new store next to Applebee’s in FL

Jennifer Mevissen Staff Writer Applebee’s will have a neighbor to its grill and bar when AutoZone builds a new 7,370 square foot store on an existing vacant commercial lot at 339 SW 12th Street. At Monday’s regular meeting, the Forest Lake City Council unanimously approved a site plan review for the parts retailer with staff recommendations. The planning commission voted 7-0 in favor of the applicant, said Community Development Director Doug Borglund.
